Press and media
Cambrian Cottages is a collection of three award-winning, eco-conscious luxury barn conversions nestled near Pencader in the heart of Carmarthenshire, West Wales. Named winner of the prestigious ‘Bro a Byd’ Environmental Sustainability Award at the Visit Wales National Tourism Awards 2025, we're helping to redefine what sustainable rural tourism looks like in Wales.
Our three properties – ‘Y Cwt Mochyn’, ‘Y Llofft Stabl’, and ‘Y Llofft Wair’ - each carry the spirit of their Welsh farming heritage in their very names: the Pigsty Cottage, the Stable Loft, and the Hay Loft. Lovingly converted and thoughtfully designed, they offer a rare combination of luxury, authenticity, and genuine environmental commitment.
We warmly welcome travel writers, journalists, bloggers, and content creators. Whether you're exploring dark-sky destinations, dog-friendly escapes, or Wales's growing green tourism story, we'd love to work with you.

Story angles for features
We've outlined our strongest editorial angles below, but we're always happy to discuss a bespoke approach that fits your publication or audience.
Our story
Since buying the derelict farm in 2017, Peter's background in architecture and sustainability has guided every decision in their nine year journey to create a sustainable travel destination.
The green revolution
How a traditional Welsh farm became a leader in sustainable tourism. From our Gold 'Green Tourism' rating to our low-impact design philosophy, this is a story about doing things differently - and proving that high quality and sustainability are not mutually exclusive.
Dark sky retreats and astrotourism
Carmarthenshire's skies are among the darkest in Wales, and Cambrian Cottages is one of the county's top certified stargazing destinations. As astrotourism grows into one of travel's most talked-about trends, we offer a compelling real-world example close to home.
The hidden gem of West Wales
Flagged by both Rarebits and Visit Wales as a must-visit destination, Cambrian Cottages sits in a part of Wales that remains largely undiscovered by mainstream tourism - making it ideal for "off the beaten track" and slow travel features.
Dog-friendly travel
How we cater to the growing market of high-end travellers who refuse to leave their four-legged companions behind - without compromising on style, comfort, or experience.
Welsh heritage and language
The story behind our property names - Y Cwt Mochyn, Y Llofft Stabl, Y Llofft Wair - reflects our deep connection to Welsh farming culture and language. A compelling angle for features on authentic rural tourism, cultural preservation, and the revival of interest in Welsh identity.
