Frequently asked questions
Tell us about Cambrian Cottages?
We have been working to create our short term holiday rentals over the past six years and we were delighted to open our doors to guests in January 2024.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, you'll find plenty of information on this website, but we would love to chat to you about our aim to provide one of the most sustainable places to stay.
Can I bring my dog?
We welcome up to two well behaved medium size dogs in the two-bedroom apartments and on in the one-bedroom apartment. The additional cost is £20/pet, apart from trained assistance dogs which are free.
Remember to ring your own pet bed, bowls, spoons and towels (the provided towels are not to be used for pets!).
Outside we have a shower point to hose down you muddy mutts if needed!
How much does it cost to stay?
Our pricing varies depending on the time of year and which apartments you are interested in booking. Please click on 'book' to check availability and prices.
What do you provide?
The apartments are fully equipped with everything you should need for your stay. They are centrally heated and plenty of hot water is always available. The two bedroom apartments have in addition, a wood burning stove for your comfort.
We provide all bedding, towels and toiletries. A small welcome pack consisting of Welsh cakes, butter, jams, teas and coffees + kitchen roll and toilet paper is provided and milk for you first night is available on request.
How can I contact you?
You can reach us by phone on 07786 626010, by email stay@cambriancottages.com or on our contact form. We are always happy to answer your questions.
What should I bring?
As these are self catering apartments, you will need to bring your own food! The main supermarkets are in Carmarthen but there is also a convenience store in Pencader and a smaller supermarket and other local shops in nearby Llandysul.
As our weather varies at all times of the year; we recommend you bring walking boots or wellies and waterproof coats!
The inside of the apartments are fully tiled so we suggest you bring slippers or soft shoes to wear inside as it' no outdoor shoes inside!
Can I bring my bike?
You are very welcome to bring your bikes. We appreciate these are often quite valuable, so you can store these in a lockable section of our barn where you can also hang wet clothes and other gear.
We also have a hose down point outside!
Do you have an EV charging point?
We've installed a 7.2kW charging point for the benefit of all three apartments. You will need to bring your own charging cable as the point is untethered.
The cost of the electricity is 40p/kW. We take a reading before and after your charge, so please ask us if you wish to use this.
There also public charging points in Pencader and nearby Llandysul and Llanybyther.
How accessible are the apartments?
We have tried to make the apartments as accessible as posssible. Two of the apartments are at ground level whilst the third is at first floor level. All apartments have accommodation all on one level and have wide doors and generous shower rooms.
We've produced an accessibility guide for each apartment to help you understand the facilities and any restrictions these may have.
Please let us know if you have any particular requirements or questions, we will be happy to try to help!
Do you have a washing machine?
Although we plan to install a communal washing machine for guests, this is not yet available. In the meantime the local garage (just up the road) has 24 hour washing machines and dryers.
