Cambrian Cottages named 'Rising star'

Cambrian Cottages is delighted to announce it has been awarded the title of Rising Star of the Great British Holiday - Cymru 2026 by The Professional Association of Self-Caterers (PASC UK), the largest trade association in the self-catering sector, representing over 2,500 members across the United Kingdom.

The award celebrates businesses that have brought fresh thinking to the self-catering sector, recognising creativity, quality, and a genuine commitment to building a sustainable business from the ground up. Open to operators who have started trading since 2023, entrants were required to demonstrate innovation, an outstanding guest experience, and a measurable positive contribution to the visitor economy in their local area.

Cambrian Cottages offer three highly sustainable self-catering apartments in a converted barn in Gwyddgrug, near Pencader. The business is proud to be rooted in its local Welsh community and committed to helping guests discover the very best of Carmarthenshire.

The Great British Holiday Awards are run in partnership with PASC UK and celebrate excellence, innovation, and best practice across the UK self-catering industry.

The judges said:

Every aspect of the business, from renewable energy and EV charging to local products and thoughtful guest experiences, has been designed around sustainability without compromising comfort.

In just over two years, and against a challenging backdrop, the family-run business has earned national recognition, including the 2025 National Tourism Awards for Wales Sustainability Award and Green Tourism Gold. Outstanding guest reviews, a warm personal welcome and a strong commitment to supporting the local visitor economy have made Cambrian Cottages a true rising star in Welsh tourism."
